Rogelio Sosa
Rogelio Sosa (b.1977) is a composer, sound artist and promoter of experimental music. He studied in Mexico with Julio Estrada and Ignacio Baca Lobera and then in France, where he attended Les Ateliers UPIC, IRCAM and the University of Paris VIII, with Horacio Vaggione as his main teacher. Sosa writes for instruments but focuses above all on electronic music; he has received the Bourges and Russolo prizes, among others. An innovative composer preoccupied with the relevance of contemporary music – or lack thereof – in today’s world, he is also a laptop performer and improvises regularly at his computer with fellow composer and accordeonist Andrés Solís in their Belle Rogue duo.
