Hebert Vázquez
Hebert Vázquez (b.1963) went from the National Music Conservatory in Mexico to the universities of Carnegie-Mellon and British Columbia. Composer as well as teacher and theorist, one distinctive aspect of his work is the use of “mega-instruments”, a procedure whereby he divides among two instruments a complex part which in fact displays one same idea and gesture, something readily perceived by the listener.
