Joshua Pierce
Joshua Pierce, the featured pianist on this recording, is a New York pianist with an international solo and chamber music career. A student of Dorothy Taubman, he holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, Juilliard and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Pierce is a specialist in Russian and American music, particularly the works of Rachmaninoff and Cage, and has been featured on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered and Schickele Mix. As a soloist and in partnership with the pianist Dorothy Jonas, Pierce has recorded solo and two-piano concerti by Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Khatchaturian, Prokofiev, Mozart, Brahms, Richard Strauss, Mendelssohn, Respighi, Casella, Poulenc, Rosza, Tansman, Creston, Morton Gould and many others on Vox, Carlton Classics/Fanfare, Pro Arte, Koch International, Varese Sarabande, Wergo and other labels. He has been the recipient of numerous distinctions and awards, including over 25 Grammy nominations.
