Portland String Quartet

The Portland String Quartet

The Portland String Quartet, comprised of violinists Stephen Kecskemethy and Roland Lantz, violist Julia Adams and cellist Paul Ross, has been making music together for thirty years. Described by The New York Times as “a model of experienced ensemble playing,” the quartet has been featured in a Harvard Business School instructional video on teamwork. The members of the Quartet hold honorary doctorates from Colby College in Maine, where they lead an annual Summer String Quartet Workshop. At the 1997 First International Theremin Festival, they performed Grainger’s Free Music #1 in the version for “string foursome”, in addition to the Martinu Fantasia.
