Stefka Perifanova

The Bulgarian-Swiss pianist Stefka Perifanova is an interpreter of classical repertoire as well as of modern music up to the most contemporary music of the 21st century. She has won several international competitions and is active as a soloist, chamber musician and Lied accompanist throughout Europe, in Korea, Colombia and the USA. She is a member of the ensemble Camerata Variabile and co-founder of the Absolut Trio, with whom she regularly commissions new works. Fifteen important works for piano trio have been created this way. The debuts of the Absolut Trio in the Wigmore Hall and in the Tonhalle Zurich were highly praised by the music press. For their first CD with works by A. Schoenberg, R. Kelterborn and B.A. Zimmermann the trio received a Supersonic Award and in 2018 the cultural prize “Interpretation” of the city of Zurich. As a result of her collaboration with living composers Perifanova has premiered more than 50 solo and ensemble works.

She studied with figures such as Rudolf Buchbinder and Bruno Canino and passes on her artistic experience in master classes and at the Zurich University of the Arts and Basel Music Academy.
