Roland Auzet

Roland Auzet (b.1964), composer and percussionist, is an international soloist. He has won numerous prizes, including first prize in the International Competition of Contemporary Music of Darmstadt, Germany (1990); and the Foundation Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet (1991). Auzet was invited by IRCAM to participate in the program “Composition and Musical Computing” in 1997. He started Site-CRA (Company Roland Auzet) to develop all aspects of project creation.
 
He is artist in residence for a french theatre since 2005, with several productions in progress in France and abroad. Auzet has worked with composers and artists such as Iannis Xenakis, Andre Boucourechliev, Luc Ferrari, Pierre-Yves Artaud, Irvine Arditti, Claude Helffer, Jean-Pierre Drouet and Steven Schick. Auzet’s wide musical taste includes his participation in an improvisational group with Michel Portal and Daniel Humair.
 
Roland Auzet received the “Chevalier des Arts et Lettres” from the French Ministery in 2007. 

 

He is is now director of Theatre de la Renaissance in Lyon, France.
