Thomas Meixner
Thomas Meixner, percussion, studied with Prof. Christoph Caskel at the Hochschule für Musik Köln. He has been a member of the Schlagquartett Köln since 1988. Since 1989 he has often performed with MusikFabrik NRW, of which he is a founding member, and with the Kammerensemble Neue Musik (Berlin).
He is also active as a soloist, and has worked together with composers such as Berio, Kagel, Lachenmann and Stockhausen. He lives in Cologne, and teaches percussion and chamber music at the Cologne Musikhochschule. Besides his many activities in the field of New Music, Thomas Meixner also devotes his time to making unconventional percussion instruments.
